Potential CDS sources must be capable of conducting the entire SBLRD effort as “prime”
- Project requires integration and operation of a successful complex High Energy Laser (HEL) system into a large scale and highly complex SBLRD space vehicle
- And the subsequent launch and operation of that vehicle
- Congressionally indicated requirement for a timely (2005-2008) SBLRD launch date
Successful completion of this activity in a timely, cost effective manner requires a prime contractor with existing experience in managing large space systems and HEL integration
