Lockheed Picked To Continue EndoLeap Work August 8, 1992 -- The Strategic Defense Initiative Organization (SDIO) has selected Lockheed Missiles & Space Company to continue work on the Endoatmospheric Light Exoatmospheric Projectile (ENDO-LEAP), by executing an option for Phase II of the program.

Cruise Missile Defense
The focus of the Cruise Missile Defense (CMD) ACTD is the detection of beyond-radar-horizon cruise missile targets by an elevated sensor through coordination with target engagement by air defense systems. This demonstration will be performed at the Pacific Missile Range Facility (PMRF) where the elevated sensor suite will be located atop a mountain on Kauai. The Navy's Cooperative Engagement Capability (CEC) will provide sensor netting between the remote mountain top sensor suite and the Navy firing platform.
