AN/SLR-24 Towed Array Subsystem
Torpedo Countermeasures System

In 1996 the Naval Undersea Warfare Center Detachment, New London, intended to issue a solicitation for the production and engineering services of the AN/SLR-24 Towed Array Sensor (TAS) and Array Power Supply (APS). NUWC issued a draft solicitation for this requirement on 04 March 1996 asking for questions or comments by 22 March 1996. NUWC completed its analysis of the questions and comments and prepared the solicitation for the AN/SLR-24 Towed Array Subsystem. Under this procurement the contractor shall be required to design, fabricate, manufacture, produce, test, and deliver the AN/SLR-24 TAS and APS to meet the requirements of the Critical Item Product Function Specification (CIPFS). The contractor shall be required to design and fabricate the TAS and APS making maximum use of non-developmental items (NDI) and commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) technologies and materials rather than new development items. The basic contract will be for a maximum of eight (8) AN/SLR-24 Towed Array Subsystems and engineering services. The contract will also include three (3) options consisting of a maximum of twelve (12) subsystems under each option.
